Softvision Explorer is a complete software package for managing Internet Cafés, Hotspot and Cyber Cafés. The software consists of three modules: Explorer Manager, Explorer Client and Explorer Printer Monitor. Explorer Manager is installed on a server (main) workstation while Explorer Client must be installed on each navigation workstation. The third module, Explorer Printer Manager, is installed on computers that have a printer connected, to account for the customer's printouts.
Explorer Manager allows the operator of the premises to account for the customer's usage, define workstation access methods (restrictions, permitted programs, etc.) and monitor their use. The navigation workstations can only be used to navigate and for running several programs defined by the administrator; any other operation (executing programs, navigation to unauthorized sites, etc.) is inhibited while Explorer Client is running (it can only be closed by the administrator with a password).
When using it as a Hotspot, customers can connect to the internet using only their own browser and without having to install anything on their computer. In the professional version it's possible to use Linux on navigation workstation.

Explorer Manager

This is the module that manages the server. It is used to enter new users, recharge accounts and monitor the usage of the workstations, etc.

The main screen is divided into four sections and provides access to all the programs principal functions:

Users: displays the list of all customers in the archive and their credits.
Workstations: displays the list of workstations in the premises. The names of the computers are a different depending on whether they are in-use or not.
Orders: monitors the status of customer orders. The title bar of this section displays the number of unfilled orders (in parentheses).
Printing : this area lists the printouts made during the day.

Explorer Client

Explorer Client is the module that gives customers controlled access to the navigation station. Once launched, the program takes control of the machine and prevents the user from doing anything that could damage the Windows configuration (deleting system files, accessing the hard disk, task manager, etc.). From then on, the computer can only be used to navigate or to run other programs selected by the system administrator. Closing the program requires the administrator's password, which is set to "password," by default.
To start navigating, the customer enters his username and password or inserts his Smart Card. As soon as he logs in, a TaskBar appears in the lower part of the screen that is just like Windows'.

The right side of this bar displays connection information, such as: connection time, credit used, residual credit and username connected.
On the left side of the TaskBar, the classic Windows Start button is replaced by a Programs button that allows access to a limited number of applications that are enabled for the user (the default is Internet Explorer, only)

Explorer Printer Monitor

Softvision Explorer monitors the customer's printing and automatically debits the cost to his prepaid or post-paid account.
For this function to work properly, the Explorer Printer M

onitor must be installed on all computers where a printer is physically connected. This program identifies the user that printed and charges him for the number of pages printed at his rate.
The number of pages the customer printed during the day is also displayed in Explorer Manager's main window, in the "Printing" in the lower right. For each printout, it shows the user's name, the date and time, the printer used, the document name and the number of pages. It should be emphasized that this data is displayed for your information only and that printing is debited completely automatically without the administrator having to do anything.
